Chris and her older sibling grew up homeschooled (for all 12 grades, back before it was cool) with a burning passion for the arts. She picked up a pencil at an early age and never put it down.
She's a born-again believer in Jesus, believes the gifts of the spirit are alive and well, and adores working with like-minded people and ministries.

How Cards & Freelance Came to Be
"Cards & Freelance was born the moment I put effort into creating my first quality card and considered selling it.
It only grew from there. Come 2016, I had already been drawing regularly for years.
Youth camp was on the horizon. In the past year, my parents paid for me to go. But that year, my family started struggling to make ends meet and couldn’t help pay for camp fees. My parents also set one rule for me: Don’t ask for hand-outs. I needed to put work into the money I raised for camp.
I was STRESSIN’.
I told my youth leaders about my predicament, and one of them knew that I was an artist. She stepped up and said, ‘Why don’t you sell your art?’ A lightbulb went off over my head. Over the course of one week, my community knew that I wanted to go to camp and that I was selling my art. I raised the majority of the money in 5 months and received a scholarship that covered the rest of the costs.
I went to camp that year. It was one of the best years yet– but I also went with the satisfaction of knowing I worked for that experience, and that I had a network of friends supporting me and my goals.
Since then, I've picked up a couple of new tech skills and have put them to work!"
